The Career&External Department is a platform that allows Warwick students to develop their career-oriented skills and understanding of industries while being able to network with other driven students and alumni. We organise different types of events and share practical information via our Facebook and WeChat accounts.  In the past academic years, our career events have attracted hundreds of students to participate and help many of them to kick start their thriving career.

Our department also ensures the long-term growth of China Development Society by connecting with firms and developing mutually beneficial relations with them. In essence, the department serves as the financial backbone of the society by providing sufficient funds for events and members through liaising with sponsors. In addition, the department is in charge of forming strong bond with the other societies at Warwick University, so that future collaborations are possible.

What type of events are we holding?

Career Insight Talks

The career talks theme differently: they could be a clarification of certain industry or job, an overview of job opportunities in the UK or the important application dates.

Company Talk/On Campus Recruitment

Company representatives will be invited over to introduce their companies’ working culture. Sometimes, interviews will be held right after the event. Company talk connects students with employers. With the additional networking opportunities, students may leave a good impression and therefore have a better chance of getting the offer.

In workshops, students are able to practice interview skills, writing CVs and even practice assessment centre after introduction and tips are provided by the speaker.
